Andrew's paternal grandmother and his father have both passed away with AML and we are told that this is where his AA comes from. We've been fortunate over the years, he only has had 6 blood transfusions from the time he was 1 1/2 to the age of 2 1/2. Platelet transfusions given only when he had to have teeth extracted. We just live one day at a time and put Andrew in Gods hands. You are an inspiration to us and wish you the best.

I have a five year old (Alexander)who was diagnosed last year, 2 days after thanksgiving day.He is just a miracle child. Hi--I'm 52, was diagnosed w/AA in July, '99, had ATGAM in Sept, '99. It was a long year, but my counts started up in January and the doctors declared me in remission in May. Just this week I am completely off cyclosporin. I'm hoping my counts continue to go up--platelets are in the 70's, WBC 3.5, RBC 3.2. I started taking Procrit in May '00 and am still on it. It has definitely helped.

Hi Shari! I am so glad to hear of someone who is doing well. I was diagnosed in November, 1999. I had high dose cytoxan without a bone marrow transplant, and my counts are slowly turning around. My daughter has A.A as of 1997 and has had a brain hemmerage as a result of it. she has been a true miricle.She is on only 75 mil. of cyclosporen a day and her counts are white 7.6/ red 13.6 and plat.52,000 they continue to climb very slowly. our prayer i that they will continue to climb. She is dealing with many other problems associated with the massive hemmerage. she now spends most of her time in a wheel chair but she can walk short distance with a walker. she has more faith in her pinky than most peo le will ever have. she has a great faith in God and atributes her her blessings to him. There is a verse in a song that she lives by, it goes like this: (It may not be the way I would have chosen, when you lead me through a world that's not home, but you ever said it would be easy, you only said I'll never go alone. So when the whole world turns against me and I'm all by myself and I can't hear you answer my cries for help.
