!And They Were Named - The Team Of The Decade!
Will it be the Yankees against the Diamondbacks in 2002? Perhaps. If so its going to be rough for me because I have moved to Arizona. Although I'm still an avid Yankee fan I wouldn't be hurt too badly if the Yanks lost the series. The Diamondbacks are a new team and deserve the win considering what they have done in their short 4 yr. life. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I would be happy if either team wins the Series. I really would have been unhappy if the Atlanta Braves made it to the Seies. That tomahawk chop was really gettin to me. See you at the game rooting for dem! Thanks for being a Yankee fan!
These must have been good years for my becoming a Yankee fan. I remember just about every player on some of the Championship teams. The Mick became my hero. I remember seeing Whitey pitch at Triplett field in Johnson City before he was called up. Me and my uncle endured some bad seasons though there were few. But we always sat waiting in anticipation of something great to happen so the Yanks could win. I loved it and still do. The teams then and now are different but each one has its greatness. And I still love them. My first Yankee game was at the Stadium on old-timers day. It was like a dream come true. It seemed as almost I could feel the spirit of #7 that day which was partly dedicated to him because of his recent passing. The Yankees won that day and Reggie Jackson hit a homerun in the oldtimers game. One thing became certain when I left that day. I became a different person and had a new and stronger love for the Yankees. I guess it was the experience. I didn't go to that game with my uncle but I kept on thinking I wish he was there with me. He had passed away 5 years earlier. Sorry Mick! I guess you are my second best hero just a hair behind.
