Reasons for Use

Here are some reasons why teens in gangs (and just teens) choose to get involved with drugs...

Today in this world, drugs have become more available with easy access.
With that availability, curious young teens begin to experiment with
different and various harmful drugs, not know the consequences.  With these
experimentations, the users can become very easily addicted, and increases
the amount of use.  As the addiction increases, it can come to an extent
where it's fatal and overdoses.  This has become one of the leading causes of
deaths in the United States.

Peer pressure, and doing what the rest of the crowd is doing, caused by
trying to fit into the group, can lead into pressuring a teen to start using
drugs.  These days, fitting in the crowd has become one of the minorities to
be on the top of the list.  Even when peer pressures may be pressuring you to
do wrong.

Our society has split our kids into cliques, groups, and gangs.  It's
been overly stressed that you have to be apart of a certain organization,
such as gangs, or crews.  If you were not, you'd be considered as an
"outcast" or "abnormal."  With this, this pushes teens more to be trying to
find a group to fit in with, causing the teens to find trouble.  Gangs have
been one of the cliques that have been formed that recruits members.  Such
gangs may make the new comers to do abnormal behaviors.  While becoming a
member, and continuing being a member of that gang, they may stubble upon
drugs, and being pressured to be using drugs.  So the process of
experimental, social, addiction, and then denial starts all over again.

    The following can cause some other reasons for drug use;
*Fooling around with drugs
*Feeling lonely
*Getting drawn into gangs
*Being scared
*Drinking
