Societal Impact

The impact drugs and gangs have on society

Gangs, drugs, and crime are very harmful to society, and to the community that is effected by it. When teens join gangs, they are often introduced to drugs, thus drugs becomes more of a "communal" activity in which the gang participates in. When addiction sets into the users, then they have to rob, kill, and steal to get money so they can finance their drug habits. When they run out of money, and drugs, they have to repeat this vicious cycle and kill, rob, and or steal to refinance their habit.

This repeated cycle hurts society, by making the government spend more money for rehab, jail, detox, and other programs, plus they have to hire more law enforcement officers to keep everyone safe.

Overall, the government has to spend more money, people are less safe, crime becomes rampant, and society overall suffers because of a few who have chosen this life.
