Number of Wrestlers

The number of wrestlers per player is limited to two. Wrestlers may form a tag team or join a stable

How Matches are Decided

Match results are decided by a committee consisting of the match writers (excluding any whose characters are involved in anyway with the match). They take into account the following:

(In order of priority)

  • Quality and activity in roleplay
  • Furtherance of angles/storylines running at that time, or to start new angles/storylines/feuds etc.
  • Strategy from handlers for match Which are due at midnight, central time, Wednesday night.
Submission of good ideas, or stratting to lose can effect match results. Similarly, the strats of other people can effect your match (if they choose to run-in or otherwise interfere).
Make sure your strat is consistant with your character. If your wrestler is a big goon, she certainly is not going to be a high flyer, and a smaller nimble wrestler is not going to exacute power bombs on a big wrester.
Just think this through, it's called a "strategy" for a reason.

Roleplaying

Roleplaying is done via the message board. Try to be creative. (HTML is not required in posts, nor does it influence a decision as to whose r.p.'s are better.) One line, or couple line paragraphs are definitely out.
Roleplays should be relevant and interesting. They don't have to consist of "I am the greatest, I'm gonna beat you up" dialog and should not be repetitive or harass anyone. They can show your character to be sensitive, emotional or even weak and cowardly, but they don't have to be "tough". If they are good (interesting, entertaining), they count in your favor.
Roleplays SHOULD NOT, under any circumstances, contain any material that is racist, sexist, derogatory in any way to religious or ethnic groups, use sexual orientation as an insult, use sexually explicit language or descriptions, or contain swearing.
Rule of thumb: Would it be allowed on mainstream television? Even then be careful. The aim here is to have fun not to offend or upset anyone.
Take your time and be careful when writing your flashes. Format, as well as staying in character, count quite a bit. If you like, you can write a ring flash that can be put on the match page, but make sure that you take your time and establish a real character.

Strats for Matches (Monday Night Madness)

A strat should describe your wrestler's behavior/attitude/intentions for a match. It should contain:

  • Information on how your wrestler will be dressed
  • Any special actions at the start of the match (e.g. will they push or shove their opponent during the instructions, attack before the bell, etc.)
  • A list of the moves your wrestler will try to use during the match, as well as any special combination of moves they'll use to try to get a win
  • Any special areas of attack your wrestler will try (e.g. they attack their opponents knee because they know it was injured in an earlier match)
  • Aspects of their own or opponents character/style that they'll try and exploit (e.g. they're bigger than their opponent so they'll concentrate on power moves, or they're smaller but faster so they'll concentrate on high flying moves)
  • You might even consider a series of moves in response to what you know about your opponent and their ring style

You are allowed to strat to interfere in other people's matches. Be careful when doing so as the management feels this can be overused very quickly and the gimmick soon loses its excitement when it happens on nearly half the match cards. When strating for a run-in, you'll want to include things such as what your wrestler intends to do and, more importantly...WHY. We need a good angle based reason to support a run in. Also, if your wrestler plans to execute a run-in with other wrestlers handled by other managers, then those other managers will need to send a strat for the run-in as well. Only one person needs to send a complete strategy involving the reasons for and actions to be taken in the run-in, but the other participating managers must send a strat saying they agree to your plan otherwise you may find yourself running in only to be outnumbered once they hit the ring.

[Note there is no promise that any or all of the strat will be used, although we will do our best to use as much as is possible in the circumstances. Please don't get frustrated if it is the case that your angle/roleplay/strat/or challenge doesn't seem to get used. For a variety of reasons, each is constrained by what the other players are doing. We'll try to fit in as much of what you want as we can, but we are constrained by the "big picture" and what others want as well.]
WARNING: If you don't submit a strat you WILL lose in a very bland match.
Strats should be submitted one week prior to your match. This is to give the staff time to pass along the strats to the writers, and to give the writers ample time to give you a well written match.

Challenges/Match Choices

Challenges can be made on the via the Message Board. Be sure to look there to see if someone has taken an interest in your wrestler. Remember all challenges are subject to the approval of the BRA management. You should attempt to build some heat for your match via the message board and/or in a ring flash. The management will also schedule matches between wrestlers to further storylines, build heat, create angles, hold title defenses, etc.
We will have almost all types of matches here in BRA, but nothing of sexually explicit nature.

And Finally....

Finally, remember that this is only a game and try not to take losses too seriously. We are all participating in writing a story. Enjoy it and have fun playing. That is our only goal. Bitching will not be tolerated here at all. If you have a problem with a match, feel free to discuss it with management, and they will talk rationally about it with you. Do NOT bitch at or about a writer, this leads to an immediate expulsion from the fed. Writer put forth a lot of effort for you to enjoy, and without pay, and often without thanks. Please do not give them a hard time.

Have fun, and enjoy.
Thank you,
BRA management.
