By the intent of its founders and by the mandate of its corporate declaration, the University of San Diego is a private, independent and Roman Catholic institution providing higher American education within a pluralistic Academia system.  The vision that has inspired the University of San Diego for decades proffers that "USD was founded to be a place where people are important, where academic excellence is pursued, where the liberal arts tradition remains vibrant, where there is priority on strong teaching." (Engstrand and White, 1989)

Denis-Martin was granted admission to the University of San Diego on March 16, 1993.  He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in International Relations, Cum Laude, four years later on May 25, 1997.  His College experience provided him with the skills, values, and vision required to lay the foundation for a successful future.  Furthermore, Denis-Martin's scholastic experience equipped him with the tools for success not only as an individual, but most of all, as a member of society.

Academically, Denis-Martin completed 140.5 units of academic courses (16.5 units above the University requirements which roughly equates to a full semester of courses.)  Dispersed across virtually every department at

USD, these units fulfilled the curriculum for a BA in International Relations, a minor in Business Administration, a minor in Economics, and all General Education Requirements.  Denis-Martin's cumulative Grade Point Average ("GPA") is 3.46 for all courses, 3.60 for his major, and 3.70 for both his minors.

Denis-Martin earned the distinction of Dean's List First Honors 4 times and Dean's List Second Honors twice.  He received a Certificate of Merit for his lengthy participation as an Apprentice Teacher in the Foreign Language Department and for managerial assistance to the Foreign Language Department Director, Dr. Richard Stroik.  Denis-Martin was also accepted on the National Political Science Honors Society under USD's Chapter Theta Mu on March 19, 1997.

Denis-Martin participated in extra-curricular activities at the University of San Diego.  Denis-Martin took part in many activities sponsored by the intramural department.  He participated in three competitive sports:  soccer, tennis, and floor hockey.  He also joined the USD Roller Hockey Team which competes against other Colleges throughout the Western States as part of the In-Line College League.  Denis-Martin Captained the USD Roller Hockey Team for the 1996-1997 season.
