REMARKS AND/OR STORY : John Colone CPD bought the car at an auction in Sept. of ‘87 with approx. 4000 miles on it and a hearsay version of the cars history but no documentation to back up the story. A friend of a friend bought the car as a daily driver. I got it in Feb. ‘90 with 5800 miles. It took another 3 1/2 to find the right person to get the correct history. It is a pilot car that ended up as a Team Shelby playtoy. They were trying to persuade Paul Newman’s race team to campaign Daytonas in the Trans Am Series. The original Twilite Blue was covered in white with blue and red on top (Newman’s paint scheme). Being a pilot car, there are numerous minor differences between it and production vehicles and one option that I don’t believe was ever offered on Daytonas.
