CAMARO OWNER'S TIPS
1. From: smuson@hotmail.com
Tip: When drilling into interior carpet to the floor pan, cut a small X-slit in the carpet and then insert a pipe just a little bit bigger than the drill bit you are using into the slit and then slide the drill bit inside the pipe and drill. This will prevent the carpet from annoyingly wrapping around the carpet while drilling.

Tip: When a interior screw is a little stripped or won't take put a little Teflon tape on it. This will make the screw a little fatter without having to go out and buy a screw that doesn't look right.

Tip: PLEASE, BY ANY MEANS , KEEP YOUR CAMARO WASHED
AND WAXED! THER IS
NOTHING WORSE THAN SEEING A DIRTY CAMARO.

Tip: If your running a holly carburator on the street and if you deside you just have to plug off the power valve, never plug the main power valve or it will idle like crap and will load up at stop lights. It will also respond better with the power valve left in. Don't just plug it because your buddy said so or you keep blowing it!! Meaure you manifold vaccum and get the right power valve. If you have very little vacum because of large cam a good place to start would be 2.5 inches of vaccum. (Stamped 25 right on the power valve)

Tip: When claning valves that have been disasembeld from the head, try using finger nail polish romover to romove all the build up it works great!

Tip: A quick and easy way to clean your spark plug wires is to put a little hand cleaner (goop) on a rag and run it up and down the wire. It will make them look just like new.
7. From: getto@usa.net
Tip: If you run a MSD box with a high output coil ( such as Blaster II) always run the wires as far apart as posible. Never run them together if you do it will create a serious crossfiring mess. At high rpm it will kill the power output of the engine, it will feel like some one just nailed the brakes. This happened to me at the track it was like my motor lost 100hp at top end. I didn't realize what was wroung until a fellow racer with a simmilar experience told me, after that the car ran awsome the rest of the day.

Tip: If you have own injecton camaro and want to
gain horsepower, before you race put a bag of ice on top of the injectors. You will see a
dramatic difference.

Tip: When installing a TH-350 trans in a
1983-1992 Camaro or Firebird in place of the orignial 700 R4, Purchase a crossmember from
a 1982 Camaro or Firebeird from a salvage yard. Use the front two crossmember bolt holes
instead of the rear two. This will make the TH-350 bolt in perfectly and replace the sissy
700 R4 that came as stock.

Tip: 1st gear in 4th gen autos
Its an old one, but I had trouble finding it the way i heard it described. Simply pop
up the shifter cover (the thing with P,R,N,D,
etc.) and put the car in Neutral.Every time you put the car back a gear, it rides on a
grove, which is metal covered with rubber. The rubber
stops before the metal, so simply get a razor and snip that piece off and Wala, 1st gear!

Tip: stripped screws
When you have an interior screw that is stripped
take a paper clip and put it
in the screw hole and tighten the screw the paper clip is soft metal and it
will take-up the space so the screw will tighten.
