My XJ40, a 1988 3.6L XJ6
Here's a shot of my car in the Mountains of Tennessee, near Chattanooga.
This is fresh after a 95+ mph blast down from Nashville on my way to Atlanta.
The car performed beautifully. =)
Here's a much clearer shot, nice background, eh? But not a place
you want to test your ABS!
This is the page that is dedicated to mine own daily driver XJ40.
I have a Dorchester Grey 1988 3.6L saloon. OK, if ya read my lookout file,
I know what you're saying... "But this guy just told me that 88s suck!"
Well, they do and they don't. I suppose that the earliest models are the
"worst", well, umm, guess when my "88" was delivered? Yeahup! June of 1987!
In reality, many of the major failures that really hurt the reputations
of these cars have been done to this car, and, most importantly it's a
one owner car. This, to me is crucial as it was always sericed at Imperial
Jaguar in Wilmette, Illinois.
Currently the car is in the shop, but it ought to be out of the shop by
today, September 10th, 1997. It's getting a badly needed new front
subframe. Otherwise the car currently has 107,500(or something really
close to that) miles on it and it's been running perfectly. Although,
it is soon to be replaced in the daily driver role by a 1991 Sovereign.
I might be tempted to sell it, but I really don't want to.
