Changes In The Auto Industry

As prices of gasoline continue to rise amidst the anger of the American public, their way of fighting back seems mighty strange. The sales of SUVs and trucks continue to climb and no manufacturer wants to tbe left out. GM has seen fit, in its quest to keep SAAB in name only, to first give the marque a sport utility wagon, thinly disguised from a Subaru Imprezza, and now with a SAAB-faced Trailblazer SUV. The rumors persist that it will get a Cadillac- derived luxury car, replete with rear-wheel drive. Meanwhile, Mitsubishi has all but lost its financial backing from Dailmer-Chrysler, and Scions are selling. If all this seems a bit bizarre, join the crowd. The business is heading for big changes in the near future. -- lpl
