My current Fords are as follows.
1. I have a 1981 Ford van that I use to tow my 24' enclosed race car trailer. This fine vehicle is a conversion van with sleeping quarters in the back. It is a 6 cylinder, automatic trans jewel.
2. I have my current Ford race car. It is a 73 Ford Pinto with a 71 spec engine in it. I built the headers for it and the roll cage is an old Renault Cup Encore cage. I had to shorten the Renault cage about 3" to get it in the Pinto as the roof of the Pinto is lower! I have J.C. Whitny shocks on it and the softest front springs I could find at the junk yard cut to 5 1/2 coils. The engine has a Weber 32 36 DGV carb on it. The rear springs are a combination of Ford parts. I use the stpck main leaf. Then I got the main leaf out of a Ford Pinto station wagen and cut the eyes off it and run it right up against my original main leaf to make a duel main leaf. Then I use the Stationwagen third leaf turned around backwards so that the long side is toward the front and finish with the shortest leaf from the stock spring. I run a 2" lowering block and J.C Whitney shocks. This is a very soft setup which takes a little getting used to but with the Hoosier bias ply 225-45-13 tires on Bart 6" rims Mustang II front and rear sway bars it is a ball to drive. You have to hang the tail out in the corners to go fast but thats what is fun!
3. I purchased a 72 Pinto last fall for parts or as a replacememt for my current race car if I destroy it but right now it is in storage.
