My mini was a 1976 Saloon which had formerly been converted to 1275. Under my posession I first modified it lightly...
The first modifications consisted of : Weber 40 DCOE, Maniflow LCB, Largebore exhast, Electronic ignition, 8mm leads, Lucas Gold coil.

This wasn't enough for long...
Next modifications being currently undertaken are:

ENGINE MODIFICATIONS

Engine re-bore to 1399cc, dished pistons, fully lightened and balanced conrods, crankshaft, flywheel.

Ported, honed and flowed cylinder head, with larger valves. Compression increased to 11.8:1.

Kent 310 scatter pattern camshaft with special V-type soft double springs.

Aldon race distributor (contact-less).

Facet Red-Top fuel pump.

Weber 40 DCOE changed to Weber 48 DCOE with long air intakes.

Metro turbo oil pump, 13 row oil cooler.

WHEELS AND TYRES

Revolution 12 X 6 alloys.

10mm Spacers on both front and back wheels

Dunlop SP290 165/60/12 tyres.

BODY

Deseamed back, no bumpers.

Works Fibreglass Group 5 arches.

Nissan Primera seats, 4 point Sparco Sablet harnesses.

Zak Fibreglass dashboard.

Halogen Headlamps.

Anticlimax

Unfortunately this engine turned out to be very difficult to drive. A serious miscalculation had been taken and I had over-powered the car, far more then the Maltese traffic can afford. This engine has been pulled out and replaced by a bog-standard MG Metro engine. What a sad case ain't it ?!
