palm pilot

My palm-links are at the bottom of this page !
But first, something about my brand-new 3com Palm III:
It is the new Palm III connected organizer from 3com. It has 2 MB of RAM and 2MB of flash ROM in which the Palm OS 3.0 and the main applications reside in.
The built-in apps are:

  • Calendar (with reminder)
  • Adressbook
  • To-Do List
  • Memopad
  • Mail-Reader
  • Calculator
  • Expense Manager
But, you can download hundreds of programs and install them easily on the pilot ! And even books can be found and uploaded to be read on train for example.
Right now, I have the following tools in my pilot for testing and daily use:
  • Battery Monitor - watches your energy consumption
  • Cannon (did I mention the games ?) - artillery game
  • Convert-It - converts units of dist., angle....
  • Doc - a text reader
    • Awk FAQ
    • The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy
    • VI Cheat Sheet
  • EggTimer - as it says...
  • FillUp - control your car's fuel-consumption
  • Found Me? - displays a message to the finder if lost
  • HackMaster - makes it possible to install "hacks"
    • Case Toggle Hack - toggle case of letters by tapping
    • EcoHack - change the CPU-speed (10, 16, 19, 21, 23 MHz)
    • Logo Hack - display the Hitchhikers' Don't Panic logo
    • MenuHack - display the menu by tapping on the app's name
    • SwitchHack - toggle between apps as if they were running in background
  • MahJongg - chineese (?) tile game
  • MathPad - solve equasions like x2+3x=8
  • MineHunt - Windows MineSweeper ...
  • MMPlayer - just fun: plays a Video plus Sound
  • MultiMail - Pop3, IMAP4, eMail client !
  • Peyes - don't ask...
  • PhotoAlbum - as it says...
  • PilotCE - not what you think ... just fun ;-)
  • RamHog - who steals all that RAM ?
  • Scribble - scribble notes in the pilot
  • TealPaintLite - like MSPaint
  • Travel Clock - an alarm clock that does wake you up (tried it this morning ;-)
All of these I found at PalmPilotFiles.
