A bit of cameo history ... for those who ever wondered.

The Cameo package was available on the S10 from '89 to '91. The Cameo package included a complete ground effects kit, driving lights, sport suspension, and optional high-back bucket seats. For '89 both the 2.8 and 4.3 V6's were available. In 1990 the 4.3L V6 was added to the standard equipment list moving it into true sport truck status. 1991 saw the debut of a new five speed for GM light trucks and was available for the last year Cameos were built. These '91 Cameos are easily recognized by their round driving lamps.

There was also a Cameo EL version available that had only the front bumper cover/spoiler and rear rollpan. It retained the 4 banger and bench seat of the base model S10 EL.

In 1989 GMC sold a truck they called the Californian S/T that had many of the same options as the Cameo with the same Cameo ground effects.

The first Cameo pickup was actually a full-size Chevy that was available almost 30 years before the first S10. From the info I have found these trucks were available from 55-58 and the Cameo package was appearence rather than performance based. Here is the info I found for a 1957 Cameo on the '57 Heaven website. As always check back for any updates.
