Welcome to Central Penn Station, the main hub of my Washington and Waynesburg Railroad! My name is Chris Osterhus, and I'll be serving as your tour guide. We're still remodeling the Station, so please watch your step, and enjoy your stay.

These Train Gifs were generously provided by Rich Clark. This is an accurate depiction of my own Washington and Waynesburg (W&W) main line. Yeah right. Set in the beautiful styrofoam hills of western Pennsylvania, it's a single-track main line running north and south, that connects the Baltimore & Ohio (now CSX) at Washington, PA, with the Monongahela (now part of NS) lines in Waynesburg.

I've depicted the area around Waynesburg, however, I've taken some liberties in my town. I didn't try and model the area exactly, I was just trying to capture the feel of the town. For example, most of the industrial buildings are large, brick structures, while many of the houses are smaller, wooden buildings.

While the real W&W was absorbed into the PRR after its last passenger run in 1929, I've chosen to move the clock ahead a few years. The W&W has since been widened to standard gauge, and now runs diesels. I've chosen to keep the line open, as controlled by the Penn Central, with PC engines, and cars. However, some ex-NYC engines from the Monongahela (MGA) also show up here as well. (MGA was controlled by the New York Central.)

Check out our premier passenger trains below! My W&W used to run its own passenger trains behind E7s, over the PRR to reach Pittsburgh. However, they've been transferred to Amtrak. Now, they run behind silver-mist P40s (AMD 103s), F40s, and P32s, instead of the E's. The one E7 left (still in BN paint) has been retired, but may be rebuilt for business-train use. It might also join the E7 currently at Strasburg... :)

Take a look at the progress reports to see what I've been up to. Some *huge* news has happened lately. The railroad is back in business after relocating 55 miles north. Also, the Baldwin S12 era is winding down--both units are out of service. Read all about it on the progress report page.

The W&W has few freight cars of its own. Most are second-hand cars, painted tuscan red, with WW reporting marks. Most of the other cars are leased or borrowed from parent-company, PC. PC also supplies engines on an interim basis.

I also have some 'help' when working on the railroad. Click here to see my little helper taking a nap, sitting on 'his' chair, on his basket, and in the window.

Email me for further information about my railroad.

I got a few 'interesting' letters from people looking for Amtrak schedules. So, if you're one of them, read this first.
