1980 Grand Prix LJ
&
G-Bodys (and my other cars)

This page was made in hope that I could find other people interested in using the 1978-81 and later Pontiac Grand Prix for street rodding.   I've found very little on the internet on this car.  It seems to be a good car for street modification.  Its a full frame car, not too big, lots of available parts, and most engines fit in it real nicely.   Its got a couple brothers in the GM G-Body  family, the Buick Regal (and the Grand Nationals), the Oldsmobile Cutlass ( 442's), and the Chevy Monte Carlo(SS).

The 1980 Pontiac Grand Prix LJ

This is my main project car that I am concentrating on.  It was my first car.  Its got PW, PB and automatic trans.   Right now, it is being torn down, and the body and frame cleaned up, rust removed.    I am started painting it a pearl Electric Blue, tint the windows, and color keyed Pontiac rally wheels ( I have two, need two more 15x8).  I put in a decent audio system, as if the exhaust wasn't loud enough.

The Chevrolet Z-28
Car #2, a great performance car also in the garage is my 95 Camaro Z-28.  Polo Green and manual 6 transmission. It's basically stock, except for a Hurst shifter and a K&N air filter.  I recently added a cat-back Flowmaster exhaust system. Sounds great !   This car has been a lot of fun.   I've had it to the track a couple times, and am pretty consistant, with a best time of 13.79 @ 99.95 (before the new exhuast). I am soon going to put on some 1.6:1 rocker arms.

1967 Buick Slylark

Car #3.  The one 'old' car in my garage.  A 1967 Buick Skylark Sport Coupe.  A stock rebuilt 300ci-2 bbl engine powers it (except for the slightly bigger Crane camshaft).  Its Gold-Mist painted with a white painted hard-top.   This truly was a grandmas car, and is still in great shape.  It has mostly surface rust and won't take too much to clean up.  Plans are to paint it bright red, and retain the white painted hardtop.  Some modern aluminum wheels and tires should make it a respectable looking car.  I plan on keeping it nearly stock and to simply have a nice, clean, streetable, reliable cruising car.
