This site is designed to help owners of Chrysler vehicles with paint problems get their vehicles repaired at little cost or no cost of their own.

CLASS ACTION
The class action proposed includes all owners (new & used) of 1990 to 1997 Chrysler vehicles that are currently exhibiting paint delamination and/or persons who previously paid to repair their vehicle for this problem.

UPDATE July 09, 2001

I get loads of email everyday and I know Paul Weiss is getting his share. Paul Weiss is one of the Lead Attorneys in this Class Action Suit. Below is a recent email from him that will hopefully explain this procedure a little better. Note that he mentions if anyone has color photos to send them his way. Let's do it! If the court likes pictures let's give them pictures. Click here to send you pictures.

Dear Ed:

Thank you for your continued interest in the Chrysler paint litigation.  Here is the case update:  The case filed in Pennsylvania was dismissed, and we are now litigating the case in Southern Illinois on behalf of vehicles owners from 1990 to 1997.  However, if discovery (or evidence) shows that more recent model year vehicles are peeling, we would amend our complaint to incl. them as well.  The case is somewhat slow going, and we don't expect any major breaks for several months, and a trial would not be for a year.  The cases against Ford and GM are still pending as well.

People do not need to do anything to participate; however, if people have pictures of their vehicles, we would like color copies (with their name/address on the back side of the photo) .  The way it works is if the case is certified, we will act as attorneys for all vehicle owners unless they"opt out" and decide to pursue the case on their own and not participate in our recovery (if any).

If the case is certified as a class action people who have a vehicle defined by the class will be notified by newspaper publications.  Anyone desiring to sell their vehicle or have it painted should take documentary photos.   People are also free to check our website periodically , as we will post any big developments on there as well.  www.freedweiss.com  Again, people may send photos to our office, but we are trying not to get bogged down responding to individual questions.

About myself:

I am an owner of a peeling Chrysler. I was convinced my vehicle had a factory defect and did a little research and found out I was one of many with the same problem. I approached Chrysler on this matter. I purchased 5 Chryslers in the last 7 years, 3 New! Would you believe Chrysler would still give me a hard time on having this vehicle repaired? I was a loyal Customer, can you imagine the trouble other Customers will get?

If you feel you have or know of any information I should add please email me. Also feel free to ask questions or send me comments. peelingpaint@geocities.com
