OLD DATSUNS NEVER DIE THEY JUST GO DRAG RACING

For the last 20 years or so we've had a NISSAN product sometimes called a Datsun in our driveway.  The first one was the 1969   510 two door that my girlfriend had when I met her in 1978.  She married me in 1979 and I took over maintanence duties.  She and I both had a need for speed back then and with no kids in the picture yet we treated our autos like they were.  My ride at the time was a low riding Fiat X19, it was fun but an upkeep money pit!  So we decided to trade it for a 1977 Datsun B210 Honey Bee.  We actually got money back from the dealer as the wholesale blue book was more for the Fiat than the retail for the newer Datsun.  I know we got the better deal.  The Bee had 59,000 miles and we knew that it was just barely been broken in!!  The 510 got a fresh L16 with SSS intake and 38mm su's and the gas milage went from 22 to 28 MPG.  I painted it dark metalic root beer brown.  We drove it everywhere, then we took off the carbys and traded it for a 67 cougar.  Another money pit but we still have it and it still isn't completely restored.  But we also still kept the Bee.  It's the car that wouldn't die!  Over the years it was in a couple fender benders but it got fixed and put back in service.  One time it somehow ran out of water, over heated and warped the head, got it fixed and put another 20,000 plus miles then I finally decided to overhaul the engine to find we had also hydrauliced a piston and bent a con-rod IT STILL RAN OVER 20,000 miles with a bent rod!!!  We moved to Utah in 1990 and started using the cougar and I had a Ram 50 pickup 2wd and we bought a 1984 Nissan/Datsun (name change year) 4wd king-cab as we needed room for the kids we had in the mean time.  I wanted to go drag racing, so guess which car wasn't doing much and got the job?  Yes that's correct, the good old HONEY BEE!!!*******
