Sports  in  North Linthicum

Sports is central in our community. There is no discussion without the note of balls of scores of races-a bright note all pervasive. Time too seems measured in sports as the announcers call out the seasons with the play of the day.
The schedules of all march to the snare of the league in which most are stuck unable to move trapped till seasons end-till seasons begin.
I long for a feeling that sport is as it was. Pick up games in the empty lots of the suburban frontier. The league of guys. The series unending punctuated by the crash of broken glass and when everyone always got to play.
