Andy's Sad Rev Head Page!

Motorbikes I have owned and crashed!

I started out on motorbikes when I was seven, and have always had at least one up to the age of 25. Unfortunately, the drivers here in Perth don't seem to like me riding on the road, so after three crashes in three years (none were my fault!), I've given them away for now... but not forever...

Again, I don't have photos for all of them, but that's life.

Bike 1:

Honda Z50. when you're 6, this was really cool!

Bike 2:

Suzuki TS50ER. Wow, this bike was quick. Not. Still, it was fun.

Bike 3:

Yamaha DT400. Two stroke. Just about broke me flippin leg every time I started it. Was pretty good at loop the loops, but not so good at the landings!

Bike 4:

Yamaha DT250R. Slightly newer version of the 400 except with single rear shock and still had the lights on it. Weighed about two tonnes (roughly).

Bike 5:

Suzuki TS50X. My first road bike when I turned 16. Bloody great, once I'd thrown away the standard air filter, exhaust and given it a big bore kit to 75 cc (wow!). Still, managed 75 m.p.h.

Bike 6:

Suzuki RG125. Two stroke screamer. Good fun, but not very good in the snow in the Scottish Highlands!

Bike 7:

Moved to Oz, so it was time to indulge myself in some big bikes!

Suzuki GS750. Not that fast, but looked good, with a custom Candy Apple Red paintjob. Had just finished all the paint, polishing etc when some old dickhead pulled out in front of me and wrote the bike off. I nearly wrote his car off and he lost his licence, so that was some consolation.

Bike 8:

Kawasaki GPZ900 (1987). Wow. 255 km/h is quick. I liked this bike, but had to sell it to go to Uni.

Bike 9:

Suzuki GSX1100. 1980. Horrible brown colour, but that didn't matter- as soon as I had got it on the road, I was sitting at a set of RED traffic lights and some stupid little 17 year old girl hit me from behind at 60 km/h. Made a pretty good sandwich with the 4WD in front. Lucky the bike was so solid- it didn't crumple much, but broke the front portion of her engine in half!

Bike 10:

Suzuki GSX1100. 1981. This bike I rebuilt from the ground up- every nut and bolt etc. Worked engine, bloody awesome on the road, until an old grannie pulled out across the road in front of me. Got $2000 from the insurance company bast*rds. They're on the hit list come the revolution!

These last three are after the smash- look how straight the frame is!

Bike 11:

Suzuki DR250. 1990. Not really sure if this counts as it's not mine. I bought it for a mate, rebuilt the engine, and ride it up at Lancelin Sand dunes regularly. Pulls great wheelies!
