HASTINGS TAKES THE POLE... McGUINNESS TAKES THE POINTS...(read below)

Trevor McGuinness 1999 State Champion

Ken Hastings set a blistering pace to take pole position for the first round of 2001 at Winton Motor Raceway, with a time of 1:31.0210 edging out Trevor McGuinness with a time of 1:31.0438.   Both of these drivers were under the existing lap record held by Luke McPherson at 1:31.6078.

In third place on the grid was Karl Parsons closely followed by Kimon Papageorge, Barry Proudfoot, David Bienvenu, John Wilkinson, Clint Allsop, James Need with John Barbieri rounding out the top ten.

The rest of the grid included John Coughlan, Shane Brown, Fred Menheere, Warren Gay, Darren Roberts, Brad Toye, John Morriss, John Mclean and Joe Viccars.
