This is a description of my car:
Modifications include:
Latest update 9/16/98:
Changed the cam out. Took the Erson cam out and tried the new motorsport Z-cam {.290 dur, .552 lift and .228 @ 050}. Hadn't had a chance to go to the track, but there is a definate difference in the car. Now it pulls very hard from 4500 up. Maybe it will help me get down to the 12.0 range. Let ya know more after the weekend.
5/20/97:
306,E-brock heads,gt-40 upper/lower, 1.6 omega rockers, 24#inj., 75mm mass air, 70mm throttle body, Erson cam w/ .288 dur/.219 dur @.050 .512lift.
3.73 gears, southsides, stock t-5, motorsport clutch.
My best e.t's were 12.55 on motor--11.85 on 90hp spray.
These pictures were taken at the Louisiana Raceway. This the first time to try out the nitrous kit. It was only a 90hp kit but it worked very well.
UPDATE 5/29/98:
Sold the 3.73 gears and had another rear end set up. It is a 8.8 fitted with Mosier axles, motorsport traction lock (modified by Parson Differentials of Beaumont TX) 4.10 Motive Gears, 3" studs, and new bushings. The mods done to it include a beefier spring and an extra cluth on both sides. This rear end feels excellent. The extra clutches make it feel like a spool. There is no slip in this one. Hopefully I'm gonna go to the track and find out how it does in the next week or so.
UPDATE 7/22/98:
Well, took the car to the track in June. It was kind of a rough night because it was raining off and on. The first pass off the trailer was a 12.71, all I did was tech in and make a pass. The slicks were 2 days old and the air in them and in my airbags were way too high. But there is alot of room for improvement. The nitrous passes picked up 3 tenths. But I definatley need taller tires or put that carb setup on and wing the hell out of the motor. Oh well that is in the near future anyway.
