Robin started in 1972 driving a 1962 Chevy in the Bomber Division at Riverhead Raceway. This car was his first race car. He finished 3rd in points his first year out at 16 years old ! In 1978 Robin drove this 72' Chevy at Islip Speedway and Riverhead Raceway. This car was raced for 3 seasons with numerous wins. In the mid 80's, Robin's beautiful Camaro raced at Pocono, Riverhead, and Islip. This car was featured in an article about Robin in Stock Car Racing magazine.
