About the Harley-Davidson Super Glide Fat Bob...
In 1971 Harley-Davidson joined the front end of a Sportster® with the rear end of an Electra Glide®. They added a new seat, new tail section and distinct trim. The result was the Super Glide®, an instant classic that laid the foundation for today's Harley-Davidson® custom line.
Like it's dressier cousins the 1985 Super Glide Fat Boy has all the big beautiful reasons to own a custom Harley. Pullback handlebars with easy-to-reach controls, staggered shorty duals, classic laced wheels and that low mean Harley rumble. This year (1985), there's 10% more horsepower to the rumble, thanks to the V2 Evolutiontm engine. It's 80 cubic inches of low-end torque, mounted in a computer designed frame. Fat Bob® is the tank. Filled with 4.2 gallons, it will take you over 200 miles down the road. Super Glide Fat Bob gives you the feeling of an honest, basic American bike. A Harley-Davidson custom with a value all its own.
