The 1998 Annual Business Meeting of the Southern Delta region of the Rolls-Royce Owners' Club was held at the home of Richard and Sally Norem on Saturday, February 14, 1998. The meeting was called to order by Regional Chairman Cindy Frutos at 10:50 a.m.
Item I: The minutes of the 1998 Business Meeting were accepted as printed in The News Rolls On, 1997. Motion made by Fred Fabre; seconded by Carolyn Sheridan to accept the minutes.
Item II: Richard Norem, Secretary-Treasurer, distributed the 1997 Financial and Membership Reports. (These reports are published elsewhere in this issue of TNRO). Motion to approve was made by Bill Pritchard with a second by Andy Kessler.
Item III: A report was made by Fred Fabre who attended the National Business Meeting in Orange County, California as the Regions' delegate to the RROC Conference. Fred's report is published elsewhere in this TNRO.
Item IV: The results of the 1998 elections were read and are as follows:

The meeting recessed for a buffet lunch served by the hostess, Sally Norem.
Meeting was recalled to order by Chairman Richard Norem.
Item V: The 1997 Editor's Report. A 1998 calendar and dates of the 1998 National events were distributed by Fred Fabre. A copy of this reports appears elsewhere in this issue of TNRO. Motion by Bob Diaz to accept the report with a second by Butch Frutos.
Item VI: Old Business: Cindy Frutos reported that
the Southern Delta Appreciation Plaque, which had been awarded on a year-to-year
basis service to Southern Delta has been retrieved from Crescent
City Motors, the former Rolls-Royce dealer, and is now in her possession.
It was unanimously approved by the attending members to have the Regional
Chairman keep the trophy until it is next awarded.
Item VII: 1998 Calendar of Events. Chairman Norem
introduced Robert McAnelly, who is a member of and represents the Jaguar
Owners Club of New Orleans. The Chairman and Mr. McAnelly had discussed
holding a joint Concours Meet (Show Off). The Meet would be held
Sunday, October 18 at Houmas House Plantation House. The entry fee
for the meet would include all day admission to the House and a jambalaya
lunch on the grounds of the House. Each club would have its own set
of judges and judging criteria. The members present enthusiastically
endorsed the proposal with the following additions. Interiors of
the P.M.C.'s would be the main point of judging for 1998. RROC members
who desire to make a two-day weekend of the event would meet on Saturday,
October 17, 1998 for a car activity and a social activity(s). Details
will follow.
Item VIII: Cindy Frutos distributed copies of and briefly spoke about The RROC Membership Report as presented by Michael F. Gaetano and the membership value report, as followed by the National Office.
Newly elected Chairman Richard Norem expressed his thanks to the membership for their faith in electing him Regional Chairman of Southern Delta. He pledged to work closely with the officers and membership to strive for the continued growth of Southern Delta. He also thanked Cindy Frutos for the excellent job she has done as Regional Chairman as well as all the officers of the past two years.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:25 p.m.
