The Dodge Dart Swinger 340 was the smallest member of Dodge's Scat Pack family in 1970. Marketed as a true performance compact, the emphasis of the Swinger 340 was affordability. The swinger advertisements at the time boldly stated:"If you can find a hotter car for less than $2.808, buy it." The 340 in "Swinger 340" was a high-winding and potent 240-horse small-block V8 engine that turned this little A-body into a wild 14-second 1/4 mile screamer. The respect these high performance A-body cars received on the street was embedded in the asphalt. The Dodge Dart Swinger 340 was offered in 1969 and 1970. It was replaced by the dodge Demon 340 in 1971. They made 13,785 in 1970.
