All three of my children, David, Mark and Lauren, were required when they first got their driver's licenses to drive my old pick-up truck for one year.  They were to keep good grades, get no tickets and have no accidents that were their fault.  At the end of that year, each was given the choice of the car they most wanted.

Mark, my middle son, surprised me by choosing a Nash Metropolitan.  I was thrilled as I had loved this car as a teenager in the 50's and 60's.  After many miles and phone calls searching, Mark and I found our beauty-a 1962 coupe.  It was basically restored but still needed much maintainance and upgrading. The engine and transmission were fine. So far, we've rebuilt the carburator, brake master cylinder and clutch slave cyl., replaced all 4 shocks, put in new rubber and bushings in shifter linkage and replaced door and trunk rubber seals. It now needs new brake shoes, wheel cylinders, new floor board, front and rear glass rubber and interior.
