What a Weekend!!!

Well, the sun shone down on us!!! We finally had a sunny weekend, and despite the gale-force winds, the hundreds of hours I put into organizing this event all came together - more than 80 cars, 150 people, and lots of spectators gathered to enjoy the day. I've rebuilt this page to reflect the memories and thanks from the weekend. Sit back and enjoy the many pictures, links to other sites, stories, and thanks to the sponsors!

Special Thanks to Those Who Helped Make It Happen
I have put together this section to offer a most sincere thanks to those organizations and people that helped make all this possible!! We got some excellent offers and benefits from a variety of sources. Many thanks to you all!!!!

Hamptoin Inn Very special thanks to Sara Hanna and the Hampton Inn, Ocean City, for blocking off 30 rooms for us and offering them at special discounted rates!! We used all 30 rooms offered!! What a site to see over 50 cars stuffed in their parking lot when I first pulled in at 1am Friday night!!

Hooters Restaurants A special thanks goes out to Mike Baylis and Hooters for hosting us this year!! We had enough parking to get everyone in the same place (contrary to last year!). He let me use a couple tables and chairs for signing people in.

The Embers Restaurant I wish I could have seen the look on my own face when I first walked into The Embers (over an hour late) and realized that we had filled the enture dining room we were in! We only had HALF of that room last year!! Way to go everyone! And way to go Embers!! Many many thanks to Pat McArdle for working with us on the buffet rates and hosting us for our huge banquet! We look forward to next year!

Snappers Saloon Thanks for hosting us Friday night as everyone arrived into town. It was great to have a location for everyone to get together at, mingle, and meet some of the early arrivers. As well as knock back a cold one after the drive to Ocean City.

Many thanks to Sid Satterwhite, Jerry Cruz, and Chris Johnson of Metro Speed & Performance Magazine, an online publication, for joining us in our weekend of fun! They were gracious enough to contribute a great looking polo shirt for our door prizes during dinner at The Embers. Check out their article and pictures of us by clicking on the logo. Thanks guys and we look forward to seeing you again next year!

While the City of Ocean City didn't necessarily do anything directly, we would simply like to extend out thanks to them for being there. It's an excellent location, fairly central to most Easterners, and offers lots to do! Thanks Ocean City! We'll be back for the East Coast Gathering 2000!

We would have never gotten the huge turnout we had if it hadn't been for the fact that the ECG5 site was listed on Yahoo in 4 different locations. Any search for dodge, stealth, mitsubishi, 3000gt, or any other similar words, turned up the main ECG5 site. We received thousands of hits from Yahoo. Thank You Yahoo!!!

The home for Stealth and 3000GT owners, a concept conceived by myself and Eric Lotter at the East Coast Gathering IV, the 3Si.org website maintained by Lotter offered a wonderful means to promote the gathering and various updates. Hats off to Eric Lotter for building and maintaing that site!! Keep up the awesome work!

Many thanks again go to Eric Lotter for getting the T-shirts printed for us!

Thanks to all those others who contributed goodies for the door prizes! I don't know who you all were, but I know that people were brining things over Saturday morning and at the dinner to be given out. Thanks!

And my very personal thanks to all those who attended and made the hundreds of hours I put into organizing and preparing things worth it for me! I'm glad everyone made it, hope everyone had a great time, and hope you will all come back next year. While I didn't get to mingle as much as I would have liked, I still had a fabulous time meeting folks for the first, seeing others again, and checking out all those hot cars! Thanks everyone, cuz without you it would have been nothing!!

Until The East Coast Gathering 2000.....

Thanks to all!

Official East Coast Gathering V - 1999 T-Shirt
There are more T-shirts still available! If you didn't manage to get one while you were there, weren't able to make to Ocean City for some reason (better have been a good one! ;-) , or just somehow ended up without one, Eric Lotter has extras left over. I've transferred over the original T-shirt page displaying the designs - they came out great!
