Hello, and welcome to my page devoted to the air cooled VW. My primary interest are in the type I, better known as the Beetle, or Bug. My first car, at the ripe old age of sixteen, was a 1973 Super Beetle. She was royal blue with black interior, and I loved her. It was the most dependable car I've ever owned. Even on those rare occasions when it wouldn't start, usually all I had to do was jiggle a connection, or tape a vacuum line, and off I would go. Don't even get me started on fuel economy. The year I started driving the gas prices were up to $1.25 or better, and that was for the real cheap stuff. My Bug was a godsend during those years. A tank of gas would get me to and from school all week, and even through that Saturday night date. These memories have stuck with me through the years, and that is why I must do this page as a tribute to this amazing car. I have recently come to be the proud owner of two VW's. Both are project cars and will give me plenty to do over the next year or so. One is up and running with a few more things left to pass inspection, and the other is in storage waiting for it's day. I will post pictures and articles of my progress as well as the story of how I came to own these two cars. One is a 1972 Super Beetle (in storage) and the other is a 1973 Baja. I'm looking forward to sharing my adventure with all who are interested. So, please come in, look around, and if you like, hang out and see my progress.
