Race Car Construction
Constructing your own race car from the ground up can be a daunting task. Not only are there official Nascar rules and specifications to follow, your local track may have additional specifications. These can, and often do, change from season to season.
Soon we will have pictures of this seasons car, but in the meantime, here are a few spec's for you to feast the eye on.
The bones of a race car are the roll cage, a vital part of the racing car. Without the roll cage to protect the driver from harm, in a crash the likelihood of injury to the driver would be much much higher.
Show here, is the aluminum seat that Dave sits in to race, it is surrounded by metal braces (part of the roll cage) and nets in place of the windows. Dave is probably safer in his race car, than he is in his pickup truck!
