White County Domestic Violence Prevention (our charity) collected a little over $200 in donations and we had almost $800 in profit after all the bills were paid, So, we were able to contribute $1000 to White County Domestic Violence Prevention!! Thank you all for your donations and participation!!
Click the trophy for a complete list of all Winners! The names scrolling along at the top of the page are all the BIG trophy winners...all the "Best Of" categories....These folks are listed on our Trophy Winners Page, too, so you don't have to sit here and try to read them all!
Philip Pulley, our resident DJ, kept everyone entertained with the wonderful 60's and 70's Classic Rock-n-Roll! His music trivia was a hit...and really took a lot of time & planning! Thanks ,Philip, for a job well done!
At this time, I don't have all the pictures developed from the show (I forgot to turn in the film!) But as soon as I get the pictures I'll have them up for all to see! Info on our Vendors will also be listed so check back the week of July 19th.
The judging and running of the show went exceptionally well this year. The Judge's even had time to eat lunch and take a few breaks instead of running as hard as they could until the last minute!
This happened mainly because Gary C.(our prez) came up with the idea to have a couple of PR guys(Doyle & Ron) meet & talk with all the entrants. This took the pressure off the judges to schmooze with the crowd. But rumour has it that Garry Don kept trying to take over the PR jobs...
he kept forgetting he was a JUDGE but it is such a natural thing for him to talk with and swap stories with everyone...well, I think you can easily see what I mean! Anyway, no harm done, as the judging was completed in record time...
And good thing it was because, instead of playing music and giving away door prizes until 4pm, we had to announce the winners starting around 2:45!! There was a big, ugly, black storm cloud heading our way! The trophies were handed out in record time....and the first few raindrops started just as the People's Choice and Best of Show trophies were given out!
But, for the club members, it wasn't even CLOSE to being over!...Taking down all the banners; getting the PA system out of the weather;handing out the last of the door prizes to those that were fortunate enough to get caught under the pavilion with us!
That is just a small list of what went on...but we had lots of fun! There's something special about getting soaked to the bone while working together! :)
As usual, we all congregated at Pizza Inn after everything was in it's place for food, fun and fellowship! And the beginnings of plans for Searcyfest 2000!
