Growing up in rural Ontario, I spent a lot of my youth at the St .Thomas Dragway. The local kids used to get in the track for free , so off I went, with camera in hand shooting anything that ran faster than 12 seconds. On special occasions, we would see the  touring professionals, such as T V Tommy or "Big Daddy", K.S Pittman, Stone, Woods and Cook , Ohio George Montgomery, Jack Merkel......This was like heaven to an impressionable young teen !!  This is George Gray, who owned a gas station in London ,Ontario. I took this picture in 1964.Prior to this 40 Willys, Geroge ran a 55 Chev.

George later went on to run this supercharged -Chev powered 33 Willys that he had purchased from Tom Prock (Prock and Howell). He done a lot of match racing with this car as seen in this Wheelspin News photo. This day it was against Ohio George Montgomery from Dayton. The modern bodied gassers all but killed this class. < Not an Altered....But a Memory...
