This is Turkey

~~~~~~~~~~~ Let's Talk Turkey ~~~~~~~~~~~~
We spent a couple weeks in Turkey and I must say this country may not have the most beautiful scenery but it certainly does have the most history and the most interesting sites of anyplace I have ever been. Not that I have seen a lot of the world but I believe one would be hard pressed to find a more historically significant country than Turkey. And, as anywhere I have been, the poeple were wonderful. I have included some links below so that you may enjoy some of the more beautiful sights and history that is offered on line.
The following few pictures are of our accommodations during our stay in Turkey. Living in a tent may not suite everybody's fancy but it was warm dry.
The first of the above pictures shows one of the largest Mosks in Turkey. This one is in Adana and can accommodate a huge number of people. The following three pictures in the top row are of the Castle in the Sea and the last one on the right is the view of the Mediterranean as seen from the restaraunt where we had lunch.
The second row has two pictures of Mersin, a seaside resort city and in the center is a picture of a boy selling pastery in the four thousand year old city of Tarsus. The next is a view of the Mediterranean from a hill Near "Heaven and Hell". The last picture being a view of Adana in the distance as seen from Incerlik.
In the last row is a picture of Incerlik from a green belt area, followed by a picture of the main street in Incerlik known as "The Alley". Center is another picture of Tarsus with the courtyard to right of the picture being where the apostle Paul was raised and one can still drink from the same well as he (if you dare). The next picture is of a refreshment stand at the edge of the Mediterranean near the Castle. The last being of the main gate to the Airbase.
