Issue 165!!!!

Feb 5: Great news! Issue 165 is going to press today!!! I have the color proofs right here and they look great. Stay tuned for more updates at our site, http://www.ironcross.net.

January 29: I'm trying to place all updates regarding The Horse to our "Officially Authorized and trademarked" site at: http://www.ironcross.net. Please check it out for the latest in Horse droppings and fashion wear. Basically, I hope to have an advanced copy of issue 165 in my hands next week (Feb 5). Everything looks good. I'm starting to work on issue 167, with 166 already on disk. So far, so good.

January 7: Everything is on schedule. The mag is going to separation this week and then to the print plant. Geno has the blue lines and is making last minute changes.

I've had a lot of questions regarding subs. Let me clarify subscriptions. If you want to subscribe, you can do so now by sending $39.95 for 12 issues to: THE HORSE, P.O. Box 603, Center Port, N.Y. 11721. Notice that this is for "THE HORSE,"not IH. For everyone who has asked about their subs for Iron Horse, you need to contact the liquidators at: 305-374-2717. I have nothing to do with the money Princeton took from us. I'll try to eventually help those out who got screwed, but I need time. Also understand that I am under no obligation whatsoever to honor Princeton's debts. And as for investment options, I'll be meeting with lawyers next week to finalize that issue as well.

Tuesday, Dec 8: I just received the draft of 165. I'll amend the issue to reflect our new title and other changes. Essentially it will look the same. This is the "old" cover: You get the idea.

On the business end, we're moving out full steam ahead. I just signed some additional papers for taxes and whatnot. Everything looks good. The next major milestone is sending the issue to print, which will be maybe two weeks away. As soon as that happens, I'll post here. Again, thank you all for your support.

Wed, Dec 2: I talked to the accountant yesterday for about 45 minutes. This is a very complicated business! Anyway, the main point of interest is that we are now offering private shares if anyone is interested. If anyone would like to invest, please contact me for the details...I will be talking to some other key players today and iron out some additional details. So far, so good. In fact, I don't see anything preventing the next issue from hitting the stands. I'll try to keep everyone posted on a daily basis here. Keep checking for the latest info!

Tuesday, 1 December: As you have undoubtedly heard by now, Princeton went bankrupt and Iron Horse fell with the rest of the Princeton/Firestone titles. The news hit hard and without warning. I actually heard it first from Kelly, who heard it from another editor. At first I refused to believe the obvious, but eventually, reality set in as well as the full impact. The only options were to bid on the Iron Horse title or start our own title and try to carry on the tradition.

I placed a bid on the Iron Horse title, once I found out who the liquidators were and where to submit the bid. I had hopes for gaining title to Iron Horse, but was so disgusted with the totally unprofessional manner in which those Bozos were handling the affair, that I gave up on ever owning the title. In fact, that way these idiots are managing things, no one will ever get the title. To reinforce the incredible incompetence of this company, it should be noted that the lead liquidator was also the major stockholder within the Princeton Media conglomerate. Anything that has to do with these people is doomed from the beginning.

That brings us to the option that is now underway. I have teamed up with a partner to publish our own magazine. It will bear the familiar Iron Horse trimmings - like Dave's Horse's head and cross - the old crew and basically the same layout. In fact, we'll start with issue 165, for the sake of continuity. As I type this, it's Tuesday, the 1st of Dec. We are moving along quickly with the new title. I will have the blue lines (draft) of 165 today and will amend it accordingly. Geno will then get it for final layout. Then we'll send it to the print plant. I have a meeting with the accountant today and will discus stock options for those that would like to invest. Each share will be between $1,500 and 3,000 I think. Stay tuned for more info on that.

Anyway, that's the latest. I'll update this page everyday with the latest. Stay tuned and hopefully we'll be on the shelves in January…….
