My 1964 El Camino

I found this Camino in a farmers field back in 1991 when I was doing some work for a rich man who had bought the adjacent farm. There was a group of us that were working out in the fields and I saw some reflections towards the top of the field. I made may way toward the curious light and discovered that there was a collection of old junked out cars. One of them hadn't been there very long since it hadn't sunk into the ground yet. All I knew at the time is that this was an El Camino, and that was what I had been looking for. It was motorless and without transmission, beat up and rusting, but it was all there. The glass was perfect and all the chrome trim was there. And the best part yet, was that the box was in great shape, no holes and it was strong. It took a couple of days to track down the owner but it was accomplished. The price was set at $50 and off I went with my Dad to rescue my new prized posession. And so started the love-hate relationship that continues to this day......

This is how it looked when I towed it home.
