Nobody has got it, yet the lighter the car the faster ig goes with the same engine. I purchased the 73 Ventura for $400.00, put in a new .030 400 with mild head work a GTO type hydralic cam, an Edelbrock Preformer Intake Manifold and a 650 double pumper olley. The turbo 350 works OK and now I am trying to get out the last few bugs.

Hey it's me again, just addressing the situation of the club briefly. I have hit some interesting times lately, but like they say you live by the sword. You die by the sword. O.C.C. has gone through many a stalemate, and this prolly wont be the last. I ha e been putting thought in to it though. when I can spare a moment. I've even worked on a page and gotten what pictures I have of the project scanned, they are just due for resizing before I place them on the web page. So if you work your way through my pa e, you'll find out a little bit more behind the O.C.C. it's still kicking, may be on life support. But No girl is gonna stop this club, alright? Long Live the "W" Dan

Hey what's going on? This is Dan "Ru", co-founder of the O.C.C., currently away at school. But I figured I'd update you all on the status of the Phoenix. It's been dry docked in my garage for 3 months, And the engine swap is going good, but slow. Engine compartment is mostl detailed. Needs some minor touch up and waiting on a ARP stud kit for assembling the 70 455 .030 over that is going in it. Estimated time of completion is a while. But Rest assured that once that puppy is done. She'll fly. and this site very soon will co er the exhausting work we've done on it over the last few months. So keep checking back. Dan

Great page! I'm very impressed. The Phoenix rules! My last car was "Hell's Fury". A '71 Plymouth Fury ex-cop car (a'la the Bluesmobile) I swapped a modified 440 from a basket case '68 Charger R/T which the owner had dynoed at 390 hp at the rear wheels! I urprised and beat everyone around! It finally rusted into nothing. Currently, my '85 Omni GLH Turbo does "sleeper duty" and has beat almost everybody, including a 944 Turbo, what a flaccid kraut cart! Get your degree and go to work in Detroit and do your ountry proud, son!

I'd like to welcome everyone to the site on behalf of it's operator J-rod, Co-founder of the esteemed O.C.C. I would also like to announce a newly formed partnership with MSD Ignition and Ignition products. These guys are the best and if you'd like to see what kind of deal we can offer on MSD parts for your vehicle, feel free to email us. A little more history on the smooth ride, I had this vehicle for about 2 years. Bought with what I thought was bad freeze plugs on the existing 260 V-8, Checked it out and realized that it was more than that, the block was cracked on both side. So the en less search for another engine began. With my father kind of breathing down my neck to stay with a 260, and Me desperately searching for a 350 Rocket. Came across this 1985 307 that had about 800 dollars worth of Machine shop work done on it. I'm wishin I would've got the specifics but I believe they went with a different set of heads other than stock. Well Anyway. My dad was desperate to keep me with a 2 barrel carb I think. Parents...:-) But we finally did switch to a cast iron 350 Olds Rocket intake (wider ports, but damn was that thing heavy), and a Rochester QuadraJet (I know bottom of the barrel for carbs). Ok next dumb move which I didn't get to fix until this fall when the engine swap was done the existing exhaust system (260 manifolds, single p pe outlet) was kept..BLah. I had to rebuild my Carb 3 times!! It was running alright, it'd leave scratch. But It really became impressive when I let that puppy breathe with a new set of Flowtech Headers, Straight Pipe duals, and glasspacks. My guess is th t i had it with just those mods running 200-230 hp or so. Which was enough to wax alot of shit kickers, and run hard with the 80's generation Camaro's. And I can honestly say I never once got beat in a street race on Eldo. Cause people just don't mess wit the best.... Well she will be dearly missed. She was a good car. And a Big part of what O.C.C. is all about. Those who cruise do, Those who can't park. Dan

Mods Done: 350 small block, bored 60 over, TRW 10.5:1 forged pistons, .510 lift hydraulic cam, Crane full roller rockers, Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum heads, ARP bolts throughout, Weiand Stealth intake with Holley 750 double pumper, Sanderson s orty headers with 2.5 inch dual exhaust and 3-chamber Flowmaster mufflers, Turbo 350 trans with B&M Holeshot 3000 converter, Auburn limited-slip differential with Richmond 4.10 gears. All mods were completed at my house with my father and I being the onl two mechanics/engineers working on the project except for the trans rebuild and some minor welding. Completely clean and custom throughout! Completely rebuilt or redone everything. The fuel system consists of a RCI 16 gallon fuel cell and flows throug a Fram race filter, Holley Blue pump, and 16 feet of braided stainless steel #8 line. Ignition system consists of 1978 vintage HEI distributor with Correct-a-Cap cap, MSD in-cap coil, MSD 6A ignition box and Accel wires with Champion plugs.
Best Quarter Mile: 12.61 at 106! This is with an out of the box carb, through the mufflers, and on a set of G-60 McCreary road stars sticky tires. The truck was driven to the track, raced, and then driven home.
