No more 442

It's been a while since I updated this page. As of August 2000,
I no longer own the 442. I traded it in for an 87 Grand National.
Yes, I've gone to the Dark Side :) I still hold a place in my heart
for Oldsmobile and I plan to update this site as needed. I have
a bunch of pictures of the 442 before I took it in, but I still
dont have a scanner to scan them into the computer. If you are interested
in reading/looking at my GN, head over to this
page.

left also takes you there. We are up to 114 members and there is
usually several new posts a day so stop by and join the fun!
On another note, I
have a roll of film of the 442, but since my scanner died a few
months ago, it'll be a little bit before they get posted. Oh well.

Another Update

Been a LONG time since
I worked on this. As you can see, another layout! Still not done
however... But I won't leave it unfinished long.
12-14-99 Been a while since
an update. Seems a few people are still ending up at the old address
for the message board. One reason may be I have links to the old
address on top of all my pages but this front one. I haven't gotten
around to updating the url on the other 25 or so pages. I've done
some stuff to my car which I will just add here: New package shelf
(w/o the poorly cut speaker holes from prev. owner), junkyard new
console and console lid (lid is in perfect condition!), new chrome
seat side covers, junkyard new chrome around windshield, hood insulator,
new from GM amber parking lights, and junkyard new center chrome
strip for the hood. Never got around to posting those OCA Nat. pictures
did I?
9-29-99 The Tips page has been updated with
some brake light info and how to brighten
your dash lights for night driving. New stuff is at the bottom of
the page. On an unrealted note, some text got kinda messed up (too
big or too small) when I switched from MS Frontpage98 to Macromedia
Dreamweaver 2 so just ignore it :-)
9-3-99 I have made a new
Olds
Message Board. I hope you guys like it. It has new features,
faster speed, and no pop-ups. Be sure and tell your Olds friends
about it. Also, I'll get around to updating
this site real soon.
8-5-99 Looks
like I took longer than a week :) I scannend the dash plaques I've
gotten. I'll get the pictures from the OCA Nationals and other stuff
soon. Take a look at the plaques here.
7-15-99 I'm
still here, just been busy. Things to come: Pics from the Oldsmobile
National Meet that was in Dallas at the end of June, pics of that
award my car won from way back in May, pics of dash plaques from
the shows I've entered, and probably more stuff. I may get a new
message board, one that has more features and doesnt require you
to register (though registered users have more options when posting).
Look for these updates to slowly happen over the next week or so.
6-13-99 Big update. I redesigned the
site. No more frames :) There is also an update in the Tips
section as well as on My Car. If there
are any problems with the new site, please let
me know.
5-15-99 Two
new sections added to the Restoration tips page.
5-12-99 I took my car to the
Wichita Area Chevelle Owners car show at Mid-America Dragway last
Saturday. I entered it in the Buick/Olds class and won!!! I got
a nice big plaque, which I will take a picture of soon. Hooray for
me!
4-27-99 Added a new link to
the Links page and added some more info
to the 442 page.
4-14-99 Added the picture
that I mentioned below. They can be found at the bottom of this
page.
4-5-99 Fixed some typos. I
have some pics of my car doing a burnout and pics of it with my
dad's 87 Buick Turbo-T. Look for them this weekend. On an unrelated
topic, go see The Matrix.
One of the best movies I've seen. Killer special effects AND a great
story/plot. I'm going to see it a second time :)
3-30-99 Anyone remember me
saying I would redo the performance section a few months ago?? Well,
finally started on it. Its about 65% done so I tossed up what
I've finished so far. Enjoy. UPDATE:
3-31-99 Added more stuff
to Performance Section
3-19-99 I tossed up some new
pictures of my car w/ the 442 wheels. You can find them at the bottom
of this page.
3-17-99 Added a new section
with restoration tips. Here you will find
info on fixing some common problems found on G-Body Oldsmobiles.
3-9-99 New Wheels!! I finally
have a set of factory 442 rims on the car. The chrome is in good
condition with very minor rust in the crease in some spots. No 442
center caps but I'm making my own on my computer to glue on in place
of the faded rocket. When the weather clears up I'll take more pictures.
Also don't forget about the Message
Board. It took me several hours to get it working so I hope
to see more posts :)
Olds fans have visited since November 10, 1997.
