65 Chevy
This was a 65 Chevy 3/4 ton that my Dad bought new. At this time it had a 350, 4.56 gears, and four speed. This engine came out of a Caprice with 140,000 miles. It would easily travel down the interstate at 70 mph. Luckily, I never put a tach in. I know it would scare most people at interstate speeds.
This truck was later disassembled to use the body on my 66 4x4
66 Chevy
This was my 66 1/2 ton that I built. 305 engine with high compression heads, 9.5- 1 compression ratio, automatic, 3.73 gears. It was a nice truck but I never got the body work done before I sold it. I drove it too much to have time to get the body in decent shape. I put over 40,000 miles on the truck in this condition over the period of 2 years.
