1989 Dodge Colt GT Turbo

This is my 1989 Dodge Colt GT Turbo, there are very few of us out there driving these great cars but those who do wouldn't trade it for anything........... okay most "things". I have never been as happy driving a car as when I drive my Colt. It's not real burner in stock form but will still beat any so called "pocket rocket" in all of the 80's and most of 90's, I drove a GTIVR6 and was impressed with it's handling and accelleration, it's good competition for most stocker GTs. It will easily take CRXs, Civics, GTIs, Escort GTs (lol), Z-24s, and pretty much any sporty econo-box you sit next to at a light (I only listed the ones I've smoked already) Structurally it is the most sound car I've ever owned, very tough.

I am not a wealthy person ($chool), I have only done minor budget upgades so far such as removing restrictor in the wastegate solinoid and removing silencer from the airbox (this makes your turbo pretty loud, but I like it). I also made a boost controller from parts at hardware store (works well);if you do this set your valve almost all the way closed at first. I run mine at about 8-10 Psi with the 14b. I also took an intercooler from a 90 DSM and made it fit.

I paid $3,900.00 in February of '96, it had 57,000 miles on it (that dealer got ripped off I think). It now has 130,000 miles.
So far I added:

-sunroof ($200)
-tinted glass ($100)
-rims ($500)
-Intrax lowering springs ($200)
-GTStyling headlight blackouts [#GT0627S] ($40)
-intercooler ($75)
-paint job ($300)
-14b Turbo ($200)
-2-1/4" I/D exhaust ($250)

--------------------------------------
$5,765.00 total since 1996

In the future I plan on:

-4G63-T swap-  If you wrecked your DSM and live in the central US, contact me : ).

I neat article from overboost.com for drag racing and increasing your horsepower!
