i've got a 1985 Dodge Shorty and after knocking the muffler off today (I bottomed out!) I am interested in a 4x4 conversion. This is a van i'm just playing around with. Would this be something an average guy could handle and how much would it cost?

Steve, your web page helped me today confirm that I must keep my van. I've owned this shorty van 4x4 van for over 17 years and am having to replace worn parts regularly. I like you van! I currently have a 92 AWD GMC Safari mini-van. What do you think about converting the AWD to a 2 spd/4 hi/lo transfer and adding a body and susp. lift? Lemme know if you have any ideas, or info!!!

I have a 1995 Ford XLT 350 Clubwagon, 15 passenger van that I would some day like to convert to 4x4. I won't be rock crawling or anything like that but would like to have the 4x4 for camping, fishing, etc. Have you ever converted a van this new? If so o you have pictures of the front suspension you used and sources for parts, etc. I live in Florida so if you are on the West Coast a trip out there for conversion probably wouldn't happen. When I have time/money/location all at the same time, I can do t is conversion myself. basically just doing research right now. Thanks.
