Eddie and Isabel Short WERE married in 1968 at the Congregational Church in Easterhouse in Glasgow, and the following year Isabel gave birth to our eldest daughter Linda, who was followed 10 months later by our second daughter Angela.
Our first house was a sub let in Edmiston St in Parkhead, Glasgow close to Celtic Park although I am a Rangers fan and within one year we got a chance to buy our first house in Malcolm St for the princely sum of £50.00. It had it's own outside toilet with a light in it which was a luxury in these days, but Glasgow Corporation decided soon after to demolish the tenement and we were re-housed in a council house in the Milton district of Glasgow where we stayed for twenty years before buying our own house in Dreghorn which is a small village in Ayrshire close to Irvine.
We have been here now for nine years and are both very happy and it is very doubtful if we will ever leave Dreghorn even when we both snuff it as they have built a Crematorium on the outskirts of the village.
