The Porsche 959 and 911 Turbo, are two of the fastest production cars in the world, going from 0 to 60 in 4.4 and 3.7 seconds, respectively. The 959 does not meet the US street legal specification, and Porsche refuses to modify their pride and joy. As a result, there aren't too many 959s around. Word is that Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld both own one though. Would either of you gentleman care to give me a ride? The GT1 is the new challenger to the McLaren F1 in the GT races, and so only 50 will be sold!! September 30, 1955: Actor and cultural icon James Dean died of a broken neck when his Porsche Spyder hit a Ford car trying to make a left turn on a California highway. The driver of the Ford had only minor injuries and Dean's passenger, mechanic Rolf Wutherich, was thrown clear of the car.
