Netguide - A Great Magazine To start things off, the only magazine that I buy related to the internet is Netguide magazine! It is cheap and full of tonnes of information. It is edited in New Zealand thus has information relevant to us here in NZ. Netguide features pertinent articles which effect those of us online, great websites, tutorials and more Check out their website at www.netguide.co.nz which also features Downloads, Tutorials, MP3 and more General Education and Learning Sites: www.howstuffworks.com - All about how stuff works (very good) www.learn.com - What do you want to learn today? Take your pick! www.eLearners.com - A full & comprehensive learning database. www.education.com - Great learning for kids. www.brain.com - Awesome website for the grey matter. Computer and IT Related Learning sites: If you want to learn more about computers, and information technology then check out the following websites: www.whatis.com - Computer jargon explained. (very good) www.informit.com - IT knowledge coming out their ears (over my head) IT Development Technology Webdesign Oriented: HTML Tutorials: www.htmlgoodies.com The goodies was the first website that I'd refferred to to learn how to do webdesign. It is a great place to learn html (the programming language for webdesign) especially not owning a computer at the time... Other good html tutorials can be found at CNet page builder, www.learn.com, www.1rstsitefree.com, annabelles html tutorials, Beginners guide to html Web Authoring Tools: All said and done, for many of us it is easier to use a program to design webpages so we don't have to write all of the coding involved. I prefer using Macromedia Dreamweaver, but there are a number of packages available. Dreamweaver 3 at www.Macromedia.com Microsoft Frontpage at www.Microsoft.com Adobe GoLive at www.Adobe.com Graphics: If you don't have a computer and would like to create some cool graphics for a website or project then go to www.cooltext.com right now! Cooltext will allow you to create logos, buttons, banners and more for free, no downloads required. Otherwise good programmes to look out for are Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Fireworks, or Paintshop Pro. These are some of my favourite to use...
