Scott was born in speedway IN. in 1964 and was taken to the IndianapolisMotor Speedway to watch practice, qualifications and the race as an infant so it may not be so strange that racing is playing a huge role in his life.

Scott's first memory of racing comes very young in his life about age 6. Haubstadt, IN. was the setting. It was one summer night when his father took him down to watch the sprint car races. A blue car was doing battle with a red car and they passed each other for the lead on most every lap. Scott was on his feet screaming for the blue car. "Go blue come on blue baby!!" was the battle cry. A horse voice for the next few days was proof of his intensity.

After the races were over the track let the fans into the pits to look the cars over and talk to the drivers. Scott remembers very well talking to a thin man with a pack of cigarettes rolled up in his sleeve, under the sleeve a tattoo of an anchor. "This your car?" asked Scott as he peered into the cockpit. "Yep,"the man answered blowing smoke out of a rolled up tongue. "Look Dad it has a stick shift! " Scott said. "Nope" the man said, "It's an in / outbox. She's either in gear or she ain't." "Cool man," was Scott's response.

From that night on the boy was hooked, racing was going to be a part of his life.
