June 22, 1999--Dash and Stripes

Over the past few days I have completely taken my dash off, and have begun work underneath it. Terry has gotten all the work on the light bulbs done so I will now have dash lights. The relay in the light switch is gone and they are 32 bucks and would have to be ordered so we are mounting a separate switch in the gauge panel temporarily. I am keeping my dash out until I lay my hands on some chrome paint so I can paint the edges of my dash. I figure that since the chrome is already gone I can't hurt it too much. And I also plan to do a good job of bundling up and organizing my stereo wire while I have everything apart.

I have also put racing stripes on my hood. Terry, Seth and I worked equally on it. We did it backwards and did the stripes before the rest of the hood so they need to be done again because we pulled up some paint, but oh well. The blue I used was a little darker and more metallic than what is on there now, but it looks half-way decent considering it is spray paint with a hand-sand job underneath it. In the next few days we will finish the stripes by doing the trunk in the same way and covering the hood stripes again.

I did take pictures but I have to get them developed and even more of an obstacle, scanned.

July 4, 1999-Scanned

It didn't take as long as I thought it would and I got a couple of the pics scanned. Here are the ones from this project:
A pic of the hood with just black stripes(It goes Terry, Clayton, Seth)
A pic of the hood masked off to do the blue
A pic of the current incarnation of the racing stripes
