Welcome To My
Lil-Gti
Project Page

I am going to give updates of my progress with a few pictures here  and there to show that I am really doing this myself. Well most of it! I will do everything I can do and get friends to help me out on the rest.

Speaking of friends...I want to thank my friends for helping me with the parts to complete this project. I was really thinking about selling my baby and getting something "more reliable" but its the idea of building something with your hands and seeing the finished project. Plus
I love Rabbits that much and I have decided not to ever sell it. My friends have the same passion that I do.

Well, these are the starting photos and
there will be more to come.

As you see I am starting off with
a good base:

1.8l 8V
KYB rear shocks
Boge front strut assembly
Stock springs
Bosch European fuel injection
Recaro Seats (electric adjustable)
Phillips Dark tinted headlamps
Borla exhaust
15x7 ATS wheels
BF Goodrich Euro T/A 195 50HR 15
Scirocco sport steering wheel

The rear of the car has been gutted and the interior wiring is being worked on. the dashboard is coming out and a new one is  going in with an Autometer speedometer and rpm gauge. The door and quarter panel behind the seats are getting new door panels, the seats are going to be reupholstered, new carpet, and a new headliner.

The outside is going to be rust free with new metal welded in spots that need it (at the base of the rear), new fenders for single round headlights, front radiator core (new) from a 75-80 Rabbit.

So parts are being ordered, and the stack   in the corner is getting higher so I need to find a good weekend to get out and get this all together. I want to finish this summer. My next thing is that I am going to try those new Kumho Ecstra 712 tires. They are cheap and suppose to be great quality, and a trip to the wheel polishing place so I get my ATS's back up to spec. They need help badly. Sooo... this is the beginning and I know the end will never be in sight. You know...the never ending project!!!
