North Central Railcars, Ltd. in conjunction with the Wisconsin and Southern Railroad is pleased to announce two motorcar excursions during the 1999 season. Join us for what should be unique first-time-ever trips over these rare-mileage routes!

Saturday May 22, 1999 - Janesville to Monroe, WI

Traversing 35 miles of scenic countryside this branch line was once the Milwaukee Road’s gateway into southwestern Wisconsin. Along the way we’ll stop at the small towns of Orfordville and Broadhead to inspect their restored turn of the century depots. There is a 40-car limit for this excursion so register early!

Mileage: 70 miles round-trip
Cost: $75.00 per motor car

Saturday August 21, 1999 - Janesville, WI to Fox Lake, IL

Ride this route now before Amtrak service resumes! This former Milwaukee Road secondary main line carried passenger and freight traffic to Madison, WI and points in Iowa and South Dakota and it now serves as Wisconsin and Southern’s connection to Chicago. We’ll also take a side trip up the 12-mile Elkhorn, WI branch which is one of the few remaining segments of the Milwaukee’s Milwaukee to Kansas City main line. There is a 40-car limit for this excursion so register early!

Mileage: 120 miles round-trip
Cost: $75.00 per motor car
