My Old 1978 Silver Anniversary Corvette

My first Corvette was a 1978 Silver Anniversary Corvette. All 1978 Corvettes bare the Silver Anniversary badges, but not all came with the Silver Anniversary paint scheme (RPO B2Z). In addition, my old Corvette rolled off of the assembly line with the following options:

I'm not too sure on some of these, but this is an accurate list as near as I can tell.

Along the way, I performed a variety of surgeries on this car to make it into a real hot rod. The chief mod was an LT1 motor and a 4L60E transmission that came out of a 1995 Corvette that met an untimely demise. Along the way, the rear axle was completely rebuilt, I put in new carpets and sound deadeners, as well as a variety of little things here and there. Over time, I realized that I would never get this car to where I wanted it to be without a loan. After talking it over with my wife, I learned that she would simply prefer not to have the car, but rather would have a newer one. Thus the "project" was abandoned, and I sold it to set out looking for a "newer Corvette." That came in the form of a 1991 ZR1 that had been gone through by Doug Rippie Motorsports. However, THAT is the topic for another page.
