REGULATIONS FOR GROUP FIVE SPEED EVENT SERIES (2000)

Best Group Five Club Perpetual Trophy

Points will be combined from the Motorkhana Series and Speed Event Series to determine the best club.

(1) ELIGIBILITY TO COMPETE

Open to all members of Group 5

(2) NUMBER OF EVENTS COUNTING FOR SERIES

If the series consists of six (6) or less events, one (1) event will be dropped, if greater than six (6) events two (2) events will be dropped, for scoring purposes only.

(3) TYPE OF EVENT

The series may consist of both dirt and bitumen events.

(4) CLASSES

Classes and eligibility of cars will be as determined by Group 5.

(5) POINT SCORE INDIVIDUAL

To be calculated on Group 5 class placings only, with points awarded being 9, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1, respectively.

Outright placings will be calculated on the total points scored (in accordance with clause 2) irrespective of the classes in which the points are gained.

If a driver enters more than one vehicle in any round they must nominate prior to the start of competition which vehicle they wish to count towards outright points

(6) POINT SCORE CLUB

Will be determined by adding the individual points scored by competing members of that club, then the Clubs will be ranked in order of points scored. Points awarded will be 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.

(7) TROPHIES

Trophies will be presented for class wins (over whole series) and outright. No duplication of trophies with the exception of engraving will be allowed.

(8) EVENT DIRECTOR

The director of a round of the series will receive nine (9) points as compensation for not being eligible to compete in that round. This will apply only to one event per Director per year.


GROUP 5 SPEED EVENT REGULATIONS

AS AT 1/01/2000

The decision as to eligibility or otherwise of a vehicle will rest with the Group Five committee and/or their appointed representative "eligibility officer".

1 -STANDARD CAR CLASS

Any Modifications not specifically mentioned hereunder are prohibited.

Categories:

A: 0 - 1600 cc

B: 1601 - 2000 cc

C: 2001 - 3000 cc

D: 3001 cc & above

Criteria

(a) Be road registered and presented in registerable condition.

(b) Ignition system is free.

(c) Shock absorbers and springs are free, original number and location to be retained. Stabiliser bars are free. Ground clearance to be at least 100mm (excluding exhaust).

(d) Brake pad material is free.

(e) Clutch is free.

(f) Roll cages are permitted and encouraged. Seats, door trims & headlining must be retained, however rear seat may be removed when cage fitted.

(g) Exhaust is free, but must be road registerable and not excessively noisy.

(h) Inlet manifold, number, type and make of carburettor(s)/fuel injection to remain as supplied by the manufacturer, but carburettors may be rejetted.

(i) Air filters are free.

(j) Thermatic fans may be added.

(k) Tyres must have a minimum aspect ratio of 60%. A lower aspect ratio will only be permitted if that lower ratio was supplied by the original manufacturer.

(l) Wheels may be up to a maximum of 7" wide for cars up to 3000cc, or 8" for cars over 3000cc, or greater only if that width was supplied by the original manufacturer. Any type of wheel is permitted e.g. Mags. Wheel diameter may be altered from standard to the next size larger or smaller eg. 13" to 14" or 13" to 12".

(m)Aerodynamic Aids are free.

(n) Removal of interior fittings, upholstery, seating or headlining is prohibited except as specified in para (f).

(o) Replacement of window glass with any other material, eg. perspex, is specifically prohibited.

(p) The engine must be the same identifiable original block and cylinder head(s), or rotor housings, as supplied by the original manufacturer for that particular model. Internal modifications are free.

(q) Steering wheels are free but must be CAMS approved.

(r) Items such as gauges, seats, mudflaps, etc. are free unless otherwise specifically prohibited.

(s) Turbochargers and superchargers and similar forced induction devices are not permitted unless a factory fitment. Engine capacity, where allowed, will be subject to a multiplication factor as specified in the relevant CAMS regulation.

(t) Fitting of a full harness is permitted and encouraged.

(u) Fitting of a tailshaft strap is permitted and encouraged.

2 -MODIFIED CAR CLASS

Categories:

E: 0 - 1600 cc

F: 1601 - 2000 cc

G: 2001 - 3000 cc

H: 3001 cc & above

Criteria

(a) Cars must be presented in a road registerable condition

(b) Roll cages are permitted and encouraged. Seats, door trims & headlining must be retained, however rear seat may be removed when cage fitted.

(c) Brakes are free

(d) Engine modifications are free (except as shown in racing car class)

(e) All lights shall be retained.

3 - RACING CAR CLASS / SPECIALS

Categories:

I : All Capacities closed cars

J : All capacity open wheel cars

All vehicles with:

    slick/racing tyres

    different manufacturer's engines

    major engine swaps

    (ie. increase in number of cylinders.)

    Clubman Type Vehicles

    Open -Wheelers

    Sports sedans

    Buggies, Unclassifiable Specials


REGULATIONS FOR GROUP 5 MOTORKHANA SERIES (2000)

(1) ENTRY FEE

The entry fee for the series will be decided at a Group Five Committee meeting before the series commences each year. The adult entry fee will be $12.00.

(2) TIMING

WD's will be recorded as slowest time in class (after deletion of any penalties) +5 seconds, this however is not to exceed double the fastest time in that class. If there are no correct times in that class the director may choose another class at his/her discretion for the purpose of determining slowest time.

(3) REVERSING EVENTS

Not more than 20% of the tests run per round shall be reversing tests. (ie. If less than 10 tests are run then only 1 reversing test can be included)

(4) TYRES

No wintertread type or rally type tyres to be used. Final decision on eligibility to be at the discretion of the G5 committee or their representative.

(5) CLASSES

Production car classes shall be conducted on the following overall lengths, bumper to bumper:

Class A - Up to 412cm (162")

Engine Over driven wheels

Class B - Up to 412cm (162")

Engine Away From driven wheels

Class C - 412cm (162") to 442cm (174")

Class D - Over 442cm (174")

Class E - Specials / Unregisterable Cars.

ie. Cars not complying with the requirements for road registration in Vic.

(6) POINT SCORE - INDIVIDUAL

Points will be awarded 9, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1, to the first to sixth place getters respectively in each class.

(7) POINT SCORE CLUB

Will be determined by adding the individual points scored by competing members of that club, then the clubs will be ranked in order of points scored. Points awarded will be 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.

(8) EVENT DIRECTOR
