My Dyno Run

I did this Dyno run in May of 1999 at the "Atlanta Hangout", which was a blast by the way.

We had a pretty good turn out for the "Dyno Day". The cars were Dynoed on a DYNOJET model 248C DYNAMOMETER at Atlanata Chassis Dyno. It was pretty cool hanging around watching all the guys do thier pull. If you ever try this you might want to bring some ear plugs!

If you've ever been to the strip, this is about like pulling up to the tree! Not sure if it was all the guys hanging out watching, or wandering if the mods will pay off???

If I remember correctly I had the following mods on the car at the time of the Dyno, K&N FIPK, Borla "Tail Section", Accel 300+, !MAF, !TB coolent bypass, and 1LE Bellows.

RUN TEMP Max Power Max TORQUE
Run #1 76.9 F 254.8 294.0
Run #2 76.3 F 254.9 284.4
Run #3 77.6 F 252.7 282.1

I was a little disappointed after I got off the Dyno, but the thing you need to remember is that a Dynameter reads the Horse Power and Torque of a car at the rear wheels. When GM publish Horse Power ratings (at least in 94) they are giving the rating from the crank not the rear wheels. When you figure in the 20% power loss due to the fact that my car is an A4 (15% for M6), things look a little better. So if you add that 20% loss back in, at the time I was getting 305.8 at the crank. That equals to a 30.8 HP gain from the 1994 Factory rating. After I though about it that way a was a little happier. The car had about 75K on it at the time. The Max Power curve stayed pretty steady for all 3 pulls, but I'm not sure what was up with the Torque on the first one...LOL.

SPEED UP OR GET OUT OF THE WAY!!
